He Neng, 1942 -

He Neng was born in Chengu, Sichuang Province in 1942. He studied art at Sichuang Art Institute in the PeopleÕs Republic of China. In 1980, he was appointed Professor of Fine Art at Yunnan Art Institute.

Exhibitions include "Yunnan School: Ten Select Artists" in Beijing, "Chinese Art" in Hong Kong, and "Art and Books of Kumming" in Japan.

His art work emphasizes the subjectivity of line, color and form. They transcend the limitation of the natural appearance of the subject matter involved. The imagery depicted is not necessarily a matter of conscious choice; rather, it is often the reflection of a spontaneous surge of passion which permeates the entire image. His paintings and graphics enjoy a discovery and expression of the eternal beauty inherent in the subjects themselves.
